Dataw Island is easily accessible by land, air, and even by water.
Plan your discovery tour via a two-night/three-day Experience Dataw visit, or come see us while you are in town! Due to our secure gated access, drive-up visitors can be accommodated during Real Estate Office hours and by appointment. Regular office hours are Monday – Friday, 10 am – 5 pm; Saturday 10 am – 4 pm; and Sunday 11 am – 3 pm. We are happy to accommodate your schedule outside of these hours with an advance call to us at (843) 838-3838.
BY AIR
The nearby Beaufort County Airport is a Business/Recreation airport handling small private craft, and the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is conveniently located off of I-95 about an hour from Dataw. Also nearby, you may fly into Hilton Head Airport or Charleston International.
BY LAND
Dataw is accessible by road by taking Sea Island Parkway (US 21) to Polowana Road. You’ll enjoy breathtaking views while crossing the beautiful causeways en route to Dataw Island – take in the natural beauty of the Lowcountry landscape, including our numerous native species of sea birds.

BY SEA
Dataw Island Marina features a boatyard (DIY, use an onsite provider, or bring your own provider!), marine fuel, repair and maintenance service, dry stack, haul-out for boats up to 50 tons, and facilities that include showers and a restaurant. Please call ahead to inquire about day dock availability (843) 838-8410 or book online via Dockwa for overnight dockage. Reach out to us ahead of your stay to plan your on-land activities.
● From ICW Mile marker 521, (between ICW markers 187 & 189) turn south into Parrot Creek
● At Day Marker #1: Keep red markers to your right in Parrott Creek heading south
● Turn right (west) into the Morgan River at Marker #6 (Do not cut this marker short).
Dataw Island Marina is 3 miles from the Intracoastal Waterway.
● Note: Old NOAA charts prior to 1999 show an obstruction at Marker #2 that no longer exists.
● Depths in Parrott Creek and Morgan River exceed 10” MLW.
DIRECTIONS FROM SAVANNAH
● From 95 North, merge onto Exit 8/US 278 toward Sun City/Bluffton/Beaufort/ Hilton Head – 5.1 miles
● Turn left onto SC-141/Argent Blvd. – 3.8 miles
● Turn left onto SC-170/N. Okatie Hwy. Continue to follow SC-170 N – 11.1 miles
● Turn right onto SC-802/Savannah Hwy. Continue to follow SC-802 – 5.9 miles
● Turn right onto US-21/Ladys Island Drive. Continue 2.9 miles
● Turn right onto US-21. Continue 4.4 miles
● Turn left onto Polowana Road. Continue 1 mile
● Turn left onto Dataw Drive.
DIRECTIONS FROM CHARLESTON
● Follow US-17/S – 57.8 miles
● Turn left onto Amy Hunter Connection at Gardens Corner – .2 miles
● Merge left onto US-21/S Trask Pkwy. Continue 14 miles
● Stay straight to go onto Boundary St / US –21 BR. Continue to follow US-21 BR 3.3 miles
● US-21 BR becomes US-21. Continue 4.4 miles
● Turn left onto Polowana Road. Continue 1 mile
● Turn left onto Dataw Drive.
DIRECTIONS FROM HILTON HEAD ISLAND
●Head west on US-278 (12 mi)
● Take the ramp towards SC-170 toward Beaufort
● Turn right onto SC-170 E (14.3 mi)
● Turn right onto SC-128 (2.1 mi)
● Veer right at light onto Parris Island Gateway (1.2 mi)
● Road name becomes Ribaut Road (2.5 mi)
● Turn right onto US-21 S/Ladys Island Drive (2.9 mi)
● Turn right onto US-21 S/Sea Island Pkwy (4.4 mi)
● Turn left on Polowana Road (1 mi))
● Turn left on Dataw Drive.
