Marina

For those who are called by the water, Dataw Island keeps you close to the sea

Just three miles from the Intracoastal Waterway, boating to the Atlantic Ocean or downtown Beaufort from Dataw Island is an enjoyable and scenic 30 minute ride – although many fishermen are content to cast a line or to fly fish right here in the coastal waters of Dataw Island. Several community docks are available from which to drop a crab trap, launch a kayak or catch a sunset.

Dataw Marina is now owned by the island’s members (Dataw Island Owners Association). The facility offers wet slips, dry storage, fuel, air-conditioned showers and laundry, a marine surveyor, an on-call diver, and an open boatyard – “DIY” your project or bring in your favorite service provider.

Member Activities

Life on the water is even more rewarding when shared with friends. The Dataw Island Yacht Club is a member-led boating community that brings together sailors, power boaters, paddlers, and anyone who enjoys exploring the Lowcountry by water.

From spirited regattas and scenic kayak excursions to group cruises, sailing adventures, and the beloved annual Commodore’s Ball, the Yacht Club offers year-round opportunities to connect, explore, and celebrate the boating lifestyle.

Whether you’re an experienced mariner or simply looking to meet fellow boating enthusiasts, the Yacht Club is a welcoming way to become part of Dataw’s vibrant waterfront community. For membership information, please visit the DIYC website.

Chad Langford

Harbormaster

Growing up in the Lowcountry (in Ridgeland, Beaufort, and Savannah) Chad has always loved the outdoors, especially fishing, golf, and boating.  He is five-star Yamaha certified, served as General Manager of the Hilton Head Boathouse for 5 years, and in the earlier part of his career in the 1990s he worked in the golf industry, including as Assistant Golf Professional at Bray’s Island and running a golf store on Lady’s Island called Stic’s.

Gen serves the marina team as Marina Assistant and can usually be found at the Harbormaster front desk. Gen assists with scheduling your launch, confirming transient dockage, customer billing, and overall operations support.

Morgan River Grill

Overlooking the scenic Dataw Island Marina, the Morgan River Grill pairs exceptional waterfront dining with unforgettable sunset views. Fresh seafood, coastal-inspired cuisine, and the soothing rhythm of sailboat masts create a relaxed atmosphere that embodies the beauty and serenity of the Lowcountry.

This independently-run restaurant is open to members and the public for Lunch and Dinner, Monday through Saturday.

Dine overlooking the water at the scenic Morgan River Grill.. Seafood and american gastro delights. The Dataw Island Marina is located minutes from the Inrtacoastal Waterway and just a short ride from downtown Beaufort. Featuring wet slips, dry stack, and a FULL service boatyard, as well as the Morgan River Grill. Open to the public; reservations are only required for overnight transient boating accommodations.

At Dataw Island, boating is more than a pastime, it’s part of everyday life. Our DIY boatyard gives owners the freedom to care for your vessels on your own terms, with a dedicated workspace designed for routine maintenance, seasonal projects, and personal upgrades.

Professional support is always within reach through our trusted on-site marine partners, or you’re welcome to work with the service provider you know and trust.

Dry Stack customers also enjoy app-based launches; schedule today or in advance, and your boat will be awaiting your adventure.
