Splash Tennis Tournament

Dataw Splash 2025 is in the books. With over 165 players (our second largest event to date), there were more than a few hours devoted to a successful tournament. Putting on any event certainly isn’t a solo undertaking. Special thanks to our super referee, Patricia Nicholas, who says she’ll come back for a fifth year. Two additional state representatives, Amanda and Meg, also devoted hours to the admin and draw portions of the sanctioned tournament.  Add another thank you to Theanette Holmes at Celadon, and Troy McMullen for having available courts, should we need them.

Dataw Island Tennis Association and volunteers bless this yearly event, showcasing our local people and environment. We thank all of our sponsors for making this event happen. Your help is the ultimate contribution to the local SOAR Special Recreation, our tournament beneficiary. To our Dataw tennis family, spectators and participants, you braved fairly hot conditions. Hydration was a must. We calculated over 100 gallons of Gatorade consumed. Each year we continue to look around, wondering how we can make the event better. We take in all suggestions and ideas.
