Dataw Island's Cotton Dike Course Named Among South Carolina's Top 50 Golf Courses

Dataw Island Club’s Cotton Dike Course has been named among South Carolina’s top 50 golf courses, earning the No. 35 spot on a statewide ranking of notable courses by the South Carolina Golf Course Ranking Panel. Designed by renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio, Cotton Dike is recognized for its thoughtful design, natural setting and distinctive Lowcountry character.

The course is one of two championship courses at Dataw Island Club and offers golfers a memorable experience shaped by the island’s natural landscape. Fairways wind through live oaks, marshes and native vegetation, creating a setting that is as scenic as it is challenging. Fazio’s design works with the existing terrain and environment, incorporating the natural features of the property into the course rather than competing with them.

The recognition adds to Cotton Dike’s reputation as a standout golf experience in the Beaufort area and highlights the quality of golf available at Dataw. The course is part of a broader golf offering that includes the Arthur Hills-designed Morgan River Course, giving members access to two distinct 18-hole courses within the community.

For Dataw Island Club, the recognition reflects the continued appeal of Cotton Dike and the experience it provides to members and their guests. Cotton Dike remains an integral part of the Dataw Island golf experience, and a top-tier Lowcountry course.
