Dataw Employee Holiday Party and Gift Extravaganza

Employee Holiday Party & Gift Extravaganza

What a rodeo! Dataw employees kicked off the holiday season with a lively rodeo-themed celebration last Monday at the Dataw Golf Maintenance Building. The evening featured dinner and dessert from a variety of food trucks, a mechanical bull, and, of course, the much-anticipated Holiday Gift Fund distribution.

Chaired this year by Peter and Tina Bongiovanni, hourly employees were once again presented with bonus checks made possible through the generosity of our residents. This year’s Employee Holiday Fund totaled $162,116 from 667 members, reflecting the continued support of the community.

2025 Employee Holiday Party

Last Tuesday, employees entered the Carolina Ballroom through a tunnel of applause and high fives from the “Elves,” greeted by tables piled high with gifts for themselves and their families.

Out of the 170 employees on Dataw, 150 attended the luncheon, which featured a delicious meal and the presentation of years-of-service awards by Ted Bartlett, General Manager, and Frank O’Hara, Assistant General Manager. Following the awards and lunch, employees made their way to the gift tables, selecting from items provided through raised funds and donations from Dataw residents. Gifts ranged from kayaks, bikes, and furniture to fishing gear, kitchen appliances, kids toys, golf bags, baked goods and more.

A huge shoutout to the event coordinators who made this special day possible – Liz Blair, Marjorie Dunn, Kathy Kelenski, and Daly Ward – and to the dedicated “Elves,” whose support has helped make this luncheon a success for many years.

It was an exciting and heartfelt celebration, showcasing the appreciation the Dataw community has for its employees.
