Dataw Island Quilters Presentation

The Dataw Island Quilters displayed more than 50 children's quilts at the Ruins on Wednesday. These quilts, made by our members, are part of a community service project in which volunteers hand-sew quilts, which are provided to three-year-olds at St. Helena Early Learning Center.

The children receive the quilts at the start of the school year in August, and the same quilt remains with them for their years in the program. Staff members wash the quilts weekly, so the children have them for each day's naptime. When a child leaves the program, they will take the quilt with them.
