Dataw Battles Cancer Fundraiser 
The amenities joined forces to help raise money for the Keyserling Cancer Center. Golf, pickleball, tennis, bocce and croquet all had events to help gather donations for this amazing good cause.
Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Golf Championship to be held at Dataw Island 
Dataw Island will host the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Golf Championship on Cotton Dike this weekend. Pickleball Open House 
Dataw Island celebrated our brand-new Pickleball complex with an open house Saturday. Members enjoyed clinics and demonstrations covering a range of skill levels. The day kicked off with an Intermediate Round Robin with spectators watching some of our more advanced players. The afternoon afforded opportunity for new players to try their hand at Pickleball at a beginner’s clinic and an intermediate clinic.

Dataw Island Conservancy Christmas Bird Count  
There are a number of native bird species to be found year-round on Dataw Island, and like many Dataw Island residents we also see species migrate here from around the country. Some common, and some rare, the migration patterns of these birds is studied by the National Audubon Society. The purpose is to provide population data for use in science, especially conservation biology, though many people participate for recreation.

Dataw Island Club Champions 
Three divisions completed competition in the Club Championship tournament on Saturday: Fazio, Nicklaus, and Legacy. All divisions proved tough competition, coming down to the back 9, with one division having an excit-ing three-way playoff for first place, taking 3 holes to crown the champion! Sunday, the four players vying for the Men's Championship Division played 18 holes to crown a 54 hole champion and the Club's Champion... and the winner is, Steve Dietz! Congratulations to Diann Trautwein and Sue Zankowski for qualifying for the Final Match of the Ladies Club Championship! Sue Zankowski - our current and past Ladies Club Champion - had an excellent showing but was edged out by Trautwien in an exciting and well-attended match. Congratulations to both!
