Keeping it Playable: Fixing Ball Marks on Greens
Video tips from our Dataw Island Club Golf Professionals.

Keep it Playable: Fixing Ball Marks on Greens

• Our greens are our biggest investment. Please repair your ball mark plus one.

• The proper method to repair a ball mark is to start at the outside of the mark with the repair tool and push the turf to the middle of the mark and pat it flat with your putter. Do not push the repair tool prongs up toward the center of the mark as this destroys the grass.

• If your ball hit the green on the fly, there is a mark to be repaired somewhere on the green. That mark may not be near your ball. Please find your mark and repair it.

• As you are walking onto the green and are waiting to putt, look for unrepaired ball marks and make repairs as best you can without interfering with the pace of play.
