WSCGA Day One Results The first day of competition at the Women's South Carolina Golf Association...

The first day of competition at the Women's South Carolina Golf Association Amateur Championship at Dataw Island Club in Beaufort, South Carolina started with a gorgeous day but was met with an afternoon rain delay. However, the field of nearly 50 golfers persevered.

As of this afternoon, the ladies vying for the Championship Division are being led by Rock Hill Country Club's Jodee Tyndal, who finished her round at par. On her heels at 2 over are Dawn Woodard (Thornblade Club) and Gracyn Burgess (Ponderosa Country Club) and at 3 over, Sophia Burnett (Colleton River Club) and Kayleigh Reinke (Waterford Club).

Just over half of the State Division players posted scores before the rain, with Betty Armbruster leading at 11 over. Once the delay was lifted, Leigh Coulter (Ft. Jackson Golf Club) and Renee Rezzetano (Hampton Hall Club) both posted 8 over, and they held the lead until Pam Prescott (Pickens Country Club) posted 7 over to close out day one with the lead.
