Communities Add New Experiences & Amenities to Stand Out in the Modern Market

VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. --- Golf Course Home Network announced its 2018 list of the Top 20 Golf Communities in North America, and Dataw Island is one of the designees.

Although Dataw Island does feature two fantastic golf courses, this Top 20 list is a little different. It’s not about golf, in and of itself.

Golf Course Home chose communities because they are providing experiences, amenities or opportunities that appeal to their residents’ passions and interests. In the process, these golf communities have attained a firmer grip on residents’ loyalty and gained in appeal to potential members.

Dataw Island was recognized was recognized for our philanthropic nature, being named a "Top Community to Follow Your Passion: CHARITABLE FOUNDATIONS."

And no wonder why. A recent Dataw Island survey identified upwards of 200 different organizations with which members volunteer, both on island and off. Throughout the year various member groups and individuals can be found fundraising, gathering school supplies, distributing food items, reading to kids, tracking sea turtles, rebuilding a reef, preserving historic structures, and so much more.

Forbes magazine recently chronicled the rebound in golf real estate. One key reason they stated is that community life is now about much more than golf, and community living is all the richer for it. In other words, while we love our golf, we REALLY love being able to explore our many passions all in the same place.
