DATAW CROQUET

Where a game of Croquet is defined by congeniality and a competitive spirit.

Our pair of croquet lawns are perhaps the most charming place to gather on Dataw Island. These championship courts, overlooking a beautiful, iconic view of Jenkins Creek, are playable year-round. All members are invited to try your hand at croquet as part of our Sports Ambassadors program, and very affordable packages are available for the many who get hooked on the sport.

The Croquet Club of Dataw Island (CCDI) is one of our most popular clubs-within-a-club. It provides ample opportunities for informal play and competition - both on-island and in the local community - and is also an affiliate of the Coastal Croquet Clubs (CCC), an organization founded to foster the growth of croquet in the coastal south.

Dataw Island is pleased to host several regional croquet events each year, including 6-wicket, golf croquet, Aussie croquet, USCA-sanctioned tournament, and invitational tournaments. These events draw competition from throughout the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida.

From beginner play and regular Croquet Club matches to tournaments and a Club Championship, play is designed to develop skill and provide enjoyable play at all levels. In 2020, one of our courts was completely rebuilt and is ready to host your Croquet Association events.

Whether playing competitively or just out for some fun, the CCDI has you covered, hosting tournaments, regularly play times, and even dinners and social events. One club favorite is "Wacky Wickets," a nutty game nothing short of hilarious. Come join the fun!
